Diploma autumn 2009. Supervisor: Birgitta Cappelen External Supervisor: Pearse Connoly
This diploma is about developing new services around tv-broadcasted football. The project is a cooperation with TV 2 Sporten. With a focus on user experience, new technology and trends within media, the project explores the possibility for the user to become more involved in the match and the way football is being consumed.
The project has used the AT-ONE-method, which is a method for service innovation, developed at AHO, under government by Simon Clatworthy (www.service-innovation.org). The method is a tool for the designer to give a holistic approach to service design, with a focus on user experience, through systematically examine chosen perspectives of the service, on by one.
The project has resulted in one concept for a new service called TV 2 Stadium, on the computer and mobile platform. The service gives increased football experience through:
- Closer contact with the teams through the players video blog, supporter karaoke linked to the match and rating of the players on the stadium through the mobile.
- Richer football discussions through discussing with friends in the different chat rooms during the match, using video editing and analysis tools for visual argumentation and using others video to learn more about football.
- Easier access to social football experiences through search-functions for football pubs and friends on the mobile.
- Increased interaction and excitement during match, both at home and on the stadium, through quiz, buzz and other games.
