Bodø Library is located by the harbour in Bodø, North of Norway, at the end of the main pedestrian road- opposite the Sas-hotel. The library contains e.g. childrens-, youth- and adult department located in three volumes. The three volumes are elevated from the ground and rotated at different angles in response to views towards west and north.
Ground level is curved to create a space underneath. You enter this space and the main entrance by a wide ramp, leading you into the library information desk, a cultural café and gallery spaces.
Between the curved surface and the elevated volumes a unique public square is created. |
