“Drive-in industries” is a leisure park for car fanatics situated in Drammen, along the E18. It suggests a new use of the space which today fences off the industry from the rest of the car obsessed city. The project enables the industry to reviles itself and tell the story of the car, from birth to death.
The final project is a long structure linking the essential elements of the car industry together along a line. Mainly the project consists of an el-car factory and a customising service with a test track.
The structure starts at the highway enabling the passing drivers to enter the island. With one arm the structure reaches out to the harbour which is the point of input. And with the other arm it reaches out to the scrap yard on the opposite bank which is the final destination for redo don car parts. A transporter is linked to the structure enabling people, cars and parts to move between stations along the line.
