Glass-Constructing Affects And Sensations

The idea was to give students the basic understanding of the structural and spatial/phenomenological properties of glassmaterials in architecture. Through the integration of theory, design and artistic practices, the ambition was to stimulate interest in the contemporary use of glass and to encourage the students to experiment with its affective architectural layers, liberated from the task of representing the pure modernist transparency. The students participated in building the temporary glass stage for “Pustestripe” - an installation of modern dance in the urban space, made for CODA – Oslo International Dance Festival in September 2007. The architect of the pavilion was Neven Fuchs- Mikac, ark.MNAL, the choreographer was Kjersti Engebrigtsen. IFID student Bo Wickström was responsible for the production of the pavilion.
