The Artistic Research Fellowship Programme

The Artistic Research Fellowship Programme

The Norwegian Artistic Research Programme is a national scheme including 12 universities and colleges that offer arts education. AHO has been a member since 2014. The programme finances research projects and research education, the latter through The Artistic Research Fellowship Programme.

The Fellowship Programme works as a parallel to research education organized through doctoral programmes. Particular for this programme, is that art exercise should be the focus of the research fellow’s projects. The aim is to develop artistic skills at a high international level.

The programme offers employment in a three-year fellowship for candidates who have completed the highest art education within their subject area. The programme leads to the status of Associate Professor.

The programme is coordinated by the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, and the art research fellows are linked to one of the member institutions. The fellows will join an interdisciplinary academic community exceeding personal artistic position and professional specialization.

Vacant fellowship positions are announced on the programme and the members' websites each Autumn. Applications should be addressed to one of the member institutions, and the deadline is December 1st.
