We are expanding the campus

AHO is expanding the campus with new premises nearby to accommodate a growing school. Campus AHO will include Maridalsveien 29, Maridalsveien 21 and Akersbakken 12.

We are working on a contract to rent office spaces in Maridalsveien 21, and the plan is that parts of the administration will move there during the autumn semester. The premises that will then be vacant in Maridalsveien 29 will be office spaces for the institutes and research fellows, and there will also be room for some teaching spaces.

Teaching pavilions
To make more room for teaching, we are working on establishing teaching pavilions. The goal is to have this ready by spring 2023, but there are still necessary approvals that must be in place. This will provide studio spaces for 120 students.

In December, Statsbygg offered us to rent Bankplassen 4, as a temporary solution for 2 years. The work since then has unfortunately shown that this is not possible because the necessary upgrades means that the building will not be ready in time, and that the costs exceeds our budgets.

For the coming autumn semester, we will solve this by using all our teaching areas. We will adapt the number of courses and the sizes of the courses to suit the teaching space we have at our disposal in Maridalsveien 29 and Akersbakken.

The campus project on aho.no
The campus project is working on both short-term solutions and a plan for a permanent expansion of the school.

The project for the permanent solution will be documented in a report that will be completed in August-September 2022 and will be available to the school's employees and students.

We will keep you updated on the process of the temporary solution and the permanent solution. Major decisions will be sent out by email, but the process will be documented on a separate page on aho.no which you are welcome to follow.
