Language

Classes are taught in Spanish and Catalan. In most cases, the exchange students are tutored in English by the professors. Although it is not a reason to exclude your participation in the exchange, it is recommended that you have a basic/intermediate knowledge of Spanish (level A2), in addition to English. ELISAVA does not offer language courses.

What courses can I take?

You can enrol in the subjects of the 3rd year, with the option of extending this selection to 2nd and 4th year subjects (except the Bachelor’s Thesis of the 3rd quarter of the 4th year) depending on the number of credits required by your university of origin.

What is the duration of the semester?

The academic calendar is divided into 3 quarters and important dates vary:
1 quarter: from October to December
2 quarter: from January to March
3 quarter: from April to June

Accommodation

None are directly offered by the university, but information about student residences and other accommodation options is available here

What does it cost?

As an exchange student, you pay only the AHO semester fee

Who can apply?

Design students in their 6th or 7th semester at the time of application. 

How to apply?

Apply for exchange studies through AHO by 1 February / 15 September through the application form found here
After being nominated by AHO, you have to send in an online application. Elisava will send an e-mail to the nominated student with information about the online exchange application tool. Read more about the application process on the ELISAVA website.

The host institution's application periods

For 1st trimester / 1st and 2nd trimesters / Full year: 1 June
For 2nd trimester / 3rd trimester / 2nd and 3rd trimester: 2 November
