Exhibition AHO Gallery: Artefacts from the Pluriverse - Shaping Sustainable Futures

An exhibition that explores and articulates Industrial Design approaches in order to respond to and address the Climate and Ecological crises. The exhibition formulates these responses to namely two questions: How can we as industrial designers make the now seemingly unthinkable, thinkable and debateable; and how could our products in their making and purpose facilitate a life that plays in concert with the natural world rather than extracting and destroying it.

Instead of the dystopian future now being shaped by both our present actions and lack thereof, this exhibition opens up new perspectives, as an anachronistic window towards different but hopefully, still possible futures. At the core of this concern for us Industrial Designers lies the call to reimaging and replace our everyday products designed for mere consumption with ones that focus on more essential global needs.

In this exhibition we therefore explore new ways to address some of our most essential needs with more local solutions that facilitate a life worth living, without harming the ecological foundations on which we ultimately depend. To that end, we want to provoke, inspire and facilitate us all to both talk and ‘walk the talk’ towards a more promising future alternative to the one we presently can see unfolding. In that spirit of better futures, we urge you to open up your most imaginative abilities and join us for a walk into the future where we’ll pass by some product visions, spread over the next few decades.

The exhibition will be formally open from 18:30 in the AHO Gallery Wednesday October 9th.
