This AHO 75th Year Jubilee FUTURES DESIGN PEDAGOGIES event celebrates design education at the Institute of Design. It does so acknowledging the energies and responses design educators have given across the decades. Included are a medley of educational motivations, innovations and emergent practices motivated to meet futures challenges and needs.

AHO teachers and researchers are most welcome to attend, So too are colleagues in other design schools, partners in our projects and persons and organisations interested in shaping futures through design education. 
There is place for a maximum of 100 attendees

This AHO 75th Year Jubilee event celebrates design pedagogy at the Institute of Design. It does so by acknowledging the energies and responses design educators have given across the decades. Included are a medley of educational motivations, innovations and emergent practices motivated to meet futures challenges and needs.

It’s a little short of two years since an unseen airborne virus jettisoned design education into new and remixed pedagogical responses in support of student learning and needs. 

The global pandemic has surely propelled us into reconsidering what design itself is today but also might be and become. This may reach beyond our immediate horizons and assumptions as educators, professionals and researchers. 

In today’s postnormal times, we are confronted by known, emerging and unforeseen challenges. We need to reconfigure and even unmake given ways of working. We face challenges and opportunities about how to facilitate and support our own learning - imaginatively, practically and critically. 

This event therefore also discusses ways to enact and understand response-able pedagogical adaptations and transformative and generative acts of change. It opens out towards a diversity of situated educational practices for long term sustainable learning and anticipatory design and living.
