Guest lecture: Peter St John

Inspired by Louis Sullivan’s book Kindergarten Chats, Peter St John will give a guest lecture on subjects ranging from new projects of Caruso St John Architects to the problems of representation in architecture.

Established in 1990, Caruso and St John's practice rose to prominence after winning an international competition for the New Art Gallery in Walsall in 1995. The list of practice’s other important projects is impressive, including the Millbank Project at Tate Britain, Nottingham Contemporary, Gagosian Galleries in London, Paris, Rome and Hong Kong, Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood, Brick House, Three interiors at John Soane Museum, Chiswick House Café, Europaallee Baufeld E and Bremer Landesbank.

The practice’s Newport Street Gallery, commissioned by artist Damien Hirst, was awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2017. Caruso St John are collaborating with the artist Marcus Taylor on the British Pavilion for the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Today, Caruso St John Architects has offices in London and Zürich.
