Due to the globalization today, many traditional cultures in China are facing the extinction problem. This project has started from the perspective of the Chinese old myths and tales which are the genes of the national culture. And it aimed to dig out the value of the old myths and bring them back to the modern Chinese society.
It ends up with a night lamp “Yeyo” for preschoolers to reduce their fear of darkness. Yeyo is a god originated from the Classic of Mountains and Sea: “There were 16 gods, holding hands, and guarding the night for the Emperor of Heaven.” Today, Yeyo becomes a close friend of children and accompanies them in every dark evening.
