This projects deals with intercountry adoption in Norway. In our design process we identified the users’ need for confidence when adopting, which we attempt to provide through our design proposals.
The project is grounded in findings from meeting with users, respectively adoption applicants and families who have adopted, and actors involved in the landscape of adoption. This has provided us with a deep understanding of the process of intercountry adoption, its potentials and pain points.

The result is a design proposal for a user centered adoption process, describing the adoption applicants’ journey all the way from wishing to become parents to parenting an adopted child. Using both interaction and service design we go into detail of two specific areas to tackle the most notable pain points of today’s adoption process: the entrance to adopting and the period after the adoption.
