Who can apply?

Architecture students who are in their 6th, 7th or 8th semester at the time of application.

Language

Language of instruction: English
Requirements: Exchange students must have sufficient skills in the English language to follow classes (at least level B2). Language test certificates, such as TOEFL or IELTS, is not required.

What is the duration of each semester?

The academic year at TUT is divided into two semesters, the autumn semester and the spring semester. The academic year consists of four teaching periods and there is an examination week(s) at the end of each teaching period.
Autumn semester: August -  December
Spring semester: January - May

Tampere University organises a Welcome Week for all new international exchange and degree students at the beginning of each semester. The Welcome Week includes information on studies, practicalities related to the arrival in Finland, university services, and activities of the student union and other student organisations.

What does it cost?

As an exchange student you pay only the AHO semester fee

Accommodation

You must arrange your accommodation by yourself. You can do it via student housing.
You can choose from several student housing providers or use the private market.

How to apply?

Apply for exchange studies through AHO by 1 February / 15 September through the application form found here

If you are nominated for exchange, TUT will send you application instructions and the link to the online application by e-mail. Link to the online application is not published on TUT website and paper applications will not be considered.

Student exchange application periods are:
1 April - 30 April for autumn semester and whole academic year applications
16 September - 15 October for spring semester only
