Dancing with the Crises Instead of Avoiding Them! The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) invites you to an open guest lecture featuring Indy Johar on February 13th, 2025.
Indy Johar is not only a qualified architect and policy researcher, but he also has a unique ability to convey complex issues in a way that fosters dialogue and action on matters that truly matter.
He believes that to make relevant decisions today, we must embrace the harsh realities of the structural transformations our built environment will inevitably undergo.
According to him, this transformation will lead to a fundamentally different material world—one that we cannot predict in detail but that could also herald the genesis of a more just and sustainable future.
However, achieving this will likely require us to “dance with the crises” rather than merely trying to avoid them. Join us and be inspired by one of the most radical and influential thinkers in our disciplines at AHO.

Shifting practices under global heating
The climate and nature challenge requires new architectural and design practices. As part of a strategic focus on sustainability, AHO hosts a series of competence building sessions. By engaging, creating shared understanding, and encouraging dialogue – the aim is to shift the way we practice at AHO to make us fit for the future. Sustainability affects how we teach our students, research, run our school, and practice our professions. The program is facilitated and hosted by a working group led by Rachel Troye.
