In connection with Nick Walkley's defence of his PhD thesis the 7th March, this pop-up exhibition will display some of the reproductions of the Urnes Portal that have formed its study material.

As an assemblage spanning 200 years, it invites reflection over the question how has the monument been made as reproductions, whilst its reproductions have also made the monument? Presenting both the earliest known images alongside some of the most recent, it asks; how should we continue to reproduce cultural heritage objects, to what purpose, and what effect does the circulation of such images have on the way we perceive the monument itself?
