Information about the semester fee

To activate your student status, the semester fee must be paid. Incoming ERASMUS, Nordplus/Nordlys and most bilateral exchange students do not have to pay the fee (they will be automatically registered with an exemption). Guest students must pay the semester fee.

Payment info in Studentweb

In the menu, choose 'More' and then 'Payments'. Create an invoice and find payment information, i.e. account number, new KID number and the total amount to be paid in Studentweb.
You can pay in the same way as you usually pay invoices through your bank.

What do I pay for?

  • Semester fee to SiO - the student welfare organisation: This entitles you to use all of SiO’s welfare services for students in Oslo, such as housing, gyms, health and counseling services, and student kindergartens.
  • Kopinor fee to AHO: The fee helps cover parts of AHO's expenses to Kopinor for the use of copyrighted materials for students. This applies even if you are, for example, travelling on an exchange programme from AHO.
  • SAIH contribution: This amount is optional. If you do not wish to support SAIH, subtract the amount from the total invoice amount. If you have paid and want a refund, please see SAIH's online refund form.

Are you paying the semester fee to more than one institution?

The Kopinor fee must be paid to AHO, even if you also pay the semester fee and Kopinor fee to another institution. If you have paid the fee for student welfare organisation to another university, you can contact your study advisor to get an exemption from the fee for SiO at AHO.
