What makes a church a church? What makes us stand in awe in a church? Is it the statue or the cross on the wall? Is it the symbol that makes the church? For me, Church is about architecture.

What does architecture mean to me? What makes architecture an art? Why are we moved by architecture? For me, architecture is about church.

The church should be a black box with light, and light should be ritually invited in. When light enters a space, it fills, adorns, possesses, explodes the space. A church is a light ma-chine.

The churches in the plywood models are blurry like dream. How can I reach my dream? I made a box for my dream. The box is to keep the dream, and also a way to let the dream come true.

For me, architecture has to be built. Now I cannot build a house, but I can build a box. The box allows the object to dwell, but also allows me to dwell. Disassembling and reassem-bling, every time I use the box, I need to build it again. The building process is my dwell-ing.

My main focus on the plywood model was space. I like the photos of space taken through them, but I was not satisfied with the body of the model itself. I joint bodies with boxes. Spaces are connected by floor plans.

What I have been pursuing is the perfect combination of structure, material, scale, hu-man body, and space in architecture to reach harmony. Am I trying to approach eternity?Even the most classic work cannot move everyone. The encounter between the work and the audience is the phenomenon of time and space. There is no absolute eternity, but the classic work is from the way with a tendency to eternity. The moment when one becomes Buddha should be one that makes connections between the truth and own body experi-ence. The church must have a form that leads to eternity, but also the detail of bodies.
