Klasson hentet ledetråder fra Gerrit Rietvelds stol 'Red and Blue' for å utvikle ‘Red and White Sunbed’, som kombinerer en ikonisk form og folkelig appell.

Wallpaper has hand-picked 20 young, graduated designers for the Graduate Directory for 2016. Former AHO-student Edvin Klasson is one of them.
Edvin Klasson graduated with a Master of Industrial Design in spring 2015. In his Diploma project, 'Untitled', he has explored originality issues within industrial design.

Klasson took cues from Gerrit Rietveld's ‘Red and Blue’ chair to develop his ‘Red and White Sunlounger’, combining an iconic shape and popular appeal. The main parts are amplified and extended to a point where it communicates ‘lay down’ instead of ‘sit down’. The overall impression of an outdoor sun longer is also amplified through the use of color.

“Juxtaposing products, displaying them in a particular context or isolating them have, allegedly, a greater impact on the perceived level of originality than the actual products themselves”, says Klasson.

In 2013 Klasson received Young Talent Award from Norwegian Design Council.
