Admission requirements

For admission to the executive master's programme and individual modules at AHO, you must provide documentation of the following:

Formal Education

The formal admission requirement for the executive master's programme is one of the following degrees:

In special cases, the third year of formal studies can be replaced with additional relevant experience.

Professional experience

At least 2 years of relevant professional experience must be documented. Education at the master's level (300 ECTS credits) can replace the requirement for professional experience.

Professional experience may include paid and/or unpaid work, employment or positions in voluntary organizations, and similar roles. Examples of acceptable documentation include employer certificates, documents from the Tax Administration, or other public authorities.

AHO assesses whether the work is considered relevant for the study program through individual evaluation.

Here's how you calculate professional experience:

  • Each job must have been continuous for at least six months in a minimum 50% position.
  • The professional experience must have been gained after turning 18 years old.
  • Professional experience is converted to full-time equivalent, so if you, for example, have only worked in a 50% position, you must have worked for 4 years.
Motivation Letter

We would like you to provide an academic rationale for why you are applying to the study program. What knowledge and skills do you possess, and what do you aim to acquire? Are you seeking professional development in your current field, or do you aspire to undertake different tasks upon completing the program?
Limit your response to one A4 page.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should provide details about your education and relevant work experience. It can be in English or a Nordic language. There are no specific requirements regarding the format of the CV.

Language

The language of instruction is English, and the program requires proficient English skills both written and oral. Applicants must therefore also meet the general language requirements in English.

See options for documentation of English proficiency here.

If you do not have formal documentation for English language skills, you can upload a certificate from your employer. The certificate must address the following points:
Written working language
Spoken working language
Level of English language
How long the applicant has been employed at the company
Is the employee’s English proficiency at a level that allows them to follow a master’s program at a college with English as the language of instruction?

Please note that students with citizenship from outside of EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay a tuition fee. Please find more information here
