Kolbjørn Nesje Nybø is presently assistant professor at the Institute of Form, Theory and History, Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), and visiting professor at Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark.
He was educated at The Oslo School of Architecture (1989), with studies in mathematics and physics at the University of Bergen.
Nybø has taught architectural history and conservation at Lund University and Aarhus School of Architecture, and worked as leader of cultural heritage in Sogn og Fjordane County administration.
