Norway number 1 in Service design

Norway scores high in an international survey in use of service design in the public sector.

The survey highlights the progress in using service design methods for developing public services.

The survey is conducted by Service Design Network, an international organization of service designers, with more than 30,000 members and followers.

The network's first report on the prevalence and practice of service design is based on a global survey of public employees, service designers and in-depth interviews with 17 leaders in the field.

Manuela Aguirre, who is one of the experts interviewed in the report, works as a researcher at AHO.

She said that Norway has a significant ecosystem for service design.

“The Norwegian center for Design and Architecture and AHO both focus on the development, research and education of expertise in the area. Also, several design agencies have played a significant role in educating public staff in the field”.
