Master of Design
At AHO, we encourage students to choose courses based on interests. The courses available to the student depend on course-specific prerequisites, as well as the path of study the student has been admitted to. Please note that the offering of Studio Courses may be subject to change.
1st year: Structured around courses and projects from the different specializations Industrial Design, Interaction Design, or Service Design, or embark on a more personal hybrid blend of the three. Students have an option of working with a Systems Oriented Design approach to their specialized or hybrid area of study.
2nd year: The first semester of the second year is dedicated to the chosen specialization, or to interdisciplinary work based on systems oriented design. Parallel to this, the students start to plan and find a theme for their diploma projects. The final semester is dedicated to the diploma project, which can be done in close co-operation with external companies and organisations, or in connection with the research and development currently taking place at the Institute of Design and Centre for Design Research.
