The Chinese garden represents a perception of how people should live. This unique philosophy of living could be considered as an art which is the most related to our daily life. Living in the forest, the ideal life that the Chinese literates presumed, is continuing in Norwe-gian culture: people go across the city, hiking in wild nature, and relaxing in hyttas. The project is an exploration and experiment between these two cultures.Imagining what if the literates are still alive, seeing, appreciating the site through their eyes, and habitat the forest as the way they did.

Hytta is considered as a residence place in the imaginarily untouched nature, however the nature here is very disturbed by that habitation. Living in the forest seems to be a par-adoxical idea for the site. The project aims to explore the possibilities which enable these two contradictory compo-nents existing together. And to reconstruct a habitat space for the current users (families with children and dogs), which is used in a slow way, in small groups.
