Janike Kampevold Larsen er Professor ved Institutt for urbanisme og landskap ved AHO. Kampevold Larsen har en doktorgrad (Dr. art) i litteraturvitenskap. 

Jeg underviser i landskapsteori og samtidslandskapets ulike konfigurasjoner og roller, de siste årene med et fokus på Arktiske landskap. Forskningen min knytter landskapsstudier til material studies, miljøhumaniora og samtidsarkeologi. Pågående prosjekter fokuserer på tidslandskap og kulturminner i Svalbard-territoriet, samt stedsutvikling  og sirkulære strategier i Arktis, med fokus på Vardø. 
I forskningsprosjektet Future North dokumenterte, kartla og undersøkte vi forholdet mellom landskapsutvikling og sosial utvikling i Arktis. Steder og regione omfattet Kolahalvøyen, den norsk Barentshavskysten og Svalbard.  landscape change and social development og inkluderte feltarbeid i det kanadiske nord.

Jeg er med-forsker på biologi-prosjektet, To manage or not: assessing the benefit of managing ecosystem disservices, ledet av Kari Anne Bråthen ved UiT, Norges Arktiske universitet, der jeg gir humanistisk perspektiver på forskning om økosystem-forvaltning: Hvordan forandrer den vitenskapelige agendaen seg i klimaforandringens tid? Kan stedegne arter forvaltes? Dette spørsmålet gjelder først og fremst kreklingen som nå brer seg meget raskt i Norge og truer med å overta andre arters habitater - blant annet urter og bær.

Jeg er en av redaktørene i Journal of Landscape Architecture (JoLA)

Tidligere har jeg vært prosjektleder for Future North, og gjesteforsker ved The Center for Art and Environment i Reno, Nevada. Jeg koordinerte oppbyggingen av et nytt masterprogram i landskapsarkitektur i Tromsø, et samarbeid mellom AHO og UiT, Norges arktiske universittet. Jeg har tidligere arbeidet som førsteamanuensis ved Litteraturvitenskap på UiO og har undervist på alle nivåer i litteraturvitenskap ved UiB og UiO, og har vært redaktør, både av bøker og det litterære tidsskriftet Vinduet.
